FIVE Ways You Can Glow Up In 2026 (NO WEIGHT LOSS)

Tired of every single glow-up article telling you to just suck it up and starve?
Me too.

We all grow weary of the glow-up videos and articles that promise a total revamp of your look, talking big about how people will treat you so much better when you fit into the writer's definition of "beautiful".

Which, as we all know, means skinny.

This article revolves around ways to show up & glow up for YOURSELF instead of changing just to fit a standard. Not only that, but we aren't going to push $100 hair products that'll last about two weeks or $60 eye cream that comes in a jar the size of your thumb.

And so, without further ado, here are the ten ways that you can glow up realistically and on a budget in 2026.

So, Hair's the problem.

No, literally, the problem is your hair (>﹏<). At least one of them.

There is a tragic lack of people in this day and age who actually know & understand how to take care of their hair type.

Some people may just have never been taught, while some people have - or have maybe seen people with their hair type online teaching others how to take care of their hair, but didn't think they could afford all of the bougie products in the video, so they gave up without a second thought.

There are many types of hair, with many subtypes, such as curly and dry or straight and oily. Too many to possibly mention in just one article without making the ENTIRE thing about hair!

But what I can do is show you a few "one-size-fits-all" products under $20 that should last you a good long while and prove effective.

︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵

1. It's A 10; Miracle Leave-In Hair Product (4oz)

This all-in-one miracle leave-in hair product will leave your hair feeling FLAWLESS, whether it eliminates frizz, adds body, makes it shine like a diamond, or all of the above!

This product works on all hair types, so you don't need to worry about aimlessly searching through a brand's online storefront just to find something that MIGHT work on you.

Not the cutest packaging in the world, to be honest... I'd probably put this in its own separate pump bottle. Or spray bottle? I'm not too sure myself.

Ok, so, before I go off about all of the benefits of using this brush... Can we just talk about how cute it is for a moment? If I weren't trying to cut back on the clutter (I already have a pink hairbrush), I'd literally beg my boyfriend to buy this for me right this instant.

Anyways, this versatile brush works on both curly and straight hair - thick or thin, frizzy or smooth. It ensures that there's less breakage (Though your brushing style does matter! I didn't even KNOW this until I was 18.) and more style.

Guaranteed to glide right through the knots & tangles like butter, this brush is perfect for everyone!

This 6-oz bottle of heat defense spray can combat temperatures up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Yes, you heard me right. FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY DEGREES.

You could stick your head in the oven with that kind of magic!
(Please do not actually stick your head in the oven. I would feel terrible because there is no 450-degree protection spray for your skin and eyeballs.)

This spray will also hold & protect your style while protecting you from frizz & repairing chemical damage! How versatile~ I might have to get myself a bottle.

(〃>_<;〃) And the list could go on FOREVER! You see what I mean, right?
Well, we can't just talk about hair all day, so...

Moving on to the next topic!

You're waiting for others to carry you when you should be carrying yourself.

Yes, carrying yourself. The way that you carry yourself and present yourself matters significantly, whether you realize it or not.

Slouching and being all tucked in on yourself gives others and you the impression that you have low self-esteem, which in turn will affect the way you are perceived.

It's time to walk with your chest out and your chin up. You don't need a reason to walk like you're on top of the world.

Even if you feel like you're at the bottom of the barrel, the way you compose yourself & the demeanor you choose for yourself can make subtle changes to your psyche.

A very funny piece of advice that I was given some time ago was as follows: "Walk with your chest puffed out like you're trying to shoot lasers through your nipples!"

So, what do you think?

It took me until I was 17 years old to even consider my own posture (unfortunately for my spine...) and how it played a role in my self-confidence.

But it doesn't matter what age you are when you learn it - as long as you DO learn it.

It's time for you to make the makeup choice.

And no, I don't mean deciding between two different brands of bronzer at the department store. (¬_¬; )

This one may definitely not apply to all of you. I know many women who don't do makeup at all! And that is perfectly normal, and I support their decision not to wear anything on their face.

I personally didn't start doing makeup until recently, but that was just because I didn't know how. BUT, before I started with all of that, I had to sit with myself and make a big decision...

Am I doing this for me, to express myself and see myself as a beautiful canvas? Or am I doing this to fit into a mold?

I want you to sit and think long and hard about it. Starting to wear makeup or continuing to wear makeup when you're doing it for others can lead to increased insecurity and damaged self-image over time.

Properly taking care of your skin matters more than you think!

Skincare, to most of us, is just splashing some water on our faces and applying sunscreen after we dry off.

To others, it's an extensive routine full of products being slathered across your face & body in a specific order.

In reality, it goes far deeper than that. We need to take care of our body & skin not only from the outside, but also from the inside. Our organs work hard to filter toxins and remove the bad bits from all of the processed foods & drinks we have each day, and there are a few simple things you can do to aid and help them do their jobs! (´ ε ` )♡

‿︵˓ ʚ♡ɞ ˓ ︵ ͜

1.   Lemon Water
~~
Drinking lemon water, hot or cold, has a multitude of benefits, including giving you extra vitamin C, increasing hydration, aiding in digestive & gut health (Seriously, this stuff will clean you OUT.), helping with weight loss, and boosting your energy & mood.

I do recommend drinking it through a straw to reduce the number of acids making contact with your teeth! It's not going to rot your teeth out of your head, though, obviously. That's more likely to happen with a fizzy drink or super sugary juice.

2.   Sleep & Wake
~~
Getting proper sleep (7 - 9 hours) and exercise at least every other day, even if it's just a 5-minute walk or a short yoga follow-along video, can do wonders for your skin & mental health.

Try your best to go to sleep earlier than usual (or wake up earlier than usual - too much sleep is a bad thing too!) and get some movement done. You can even dance or hula hoop! It doesn't matter, so long as you move it, move it!

3.   Add more natural ingredients to your diet
~~

No, I'm not here to tell you to cut out unhealthy foods or stop your midnight snacking. I'm a human too, and I love a cookie or a good ol' slice of cake at one in the morning (even though that directly conflicts with number 2).

What you need is more fruits & veggies that are high in vitamins and antioxidants, such as:

-Grapefruits
-Bell peppers
-Broccoli
-Grapes
-Almonds
-Oranges

& so much more!

Figuring out the closet situation!

I, too, am an unfortunate (self-induced) victim of never knowing what to wear because nothing in my closet really goes together.
(⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄<⁄ ⁄)

Now, I'm not telling you to just throw out all of your clothes and drop $400+ on an entirely new wardrobe!
(As nice as it would be if we could afford that...)

It's OKAY to get one thing at a time. Social media has led us to think that shopping can only happen in these bulk trips where you come home juggling 16 bags from different departments and luxury stores, when in reality you CAN just go to JCPenney, Target, TXMaxx, or even Goodwill to grab a single shirt for $6 - $11.

What I did was I went through my closet, and I took everything that I don't see myself wearing to a day out in town, a visit to a friend, a job interview, or even a night at the club (if this applies to you), and I put it in a bag to donate.

Seriously, people, donate your things! Don't just throw them away! I used to think it was a joke or a myth that people just put their wearable clothes in the trash can, but it's real!

Just make sure you have at least three shirts & two pairs of pants (and a reasonable amount of underwear) leftover at the very minimum if you decide to go full-on decluttering mode.

I am not responsible for your nudity!

And that's all, folks!
